The Fast And The Furious is loosely based on a Vibe magazine article about street clubs that race Japanese cars late at night. The film stars Vin Diesel as Domenic Toretto, the leader of a street gang that is suspected of stealing expensive electronic equipment. Paul Walker stars as a rookie cop who goes undercover to find out exactly who is stealing the equipment. Posing as a racing team member, he manages to ingratiate himself with the team's leaders and even finds himself falling for Domenic's younger sister (played by Jordana Brewster). Eventually, his assignment and life become jeopardized when the other members begin to suspect an imposter within their ranks, and the stage is set for an exciting climactic showdown.
